The project involved building envelope energy-efficiency upgrades to two different buildings in Concord, NH owned by ‘Second Start’ – a local non-profit educational organization. It was funded primarily through federal grant funds.
Our role was to design the envelope improvements and prepare construction drawings and specifications for the required public bid process. Our cost effective solution called for new roof and partial wall insulation including air sealing where practical. In addition, all of the existing windows were replaced with new triple glazed units with glazing specifications related to window orientation and daylighting needs. Kynar finished aluminum ‘brickmould’ extrusions were specified to retain the historical look of the window trim.
