The Jordan Institute selected J L Purcell Architects AIA to lead the design effort for the renovation of an existing building and interior fit-up to green high performance standards. The goal for the commercial interior project was to achieve a LEED gold rating. Our work included code analysis, building envelope analysis, and programming for the new facility, as well as design.
Our design solution for the renovation included a new highly insulated enclosure, daylighting, new windows, high efficiency lighting, and green material selection. The design also included new mechanical systems designed with our consultant, Petersen Engineering. The energy analysis we performed on our new envelope design showed a potential 77% reduction in heating load from the existing space enclosure.
