After a complete gut renovation of approximately 2000sf, space was provided for a new yoga studio, prop room, waiting area, corridor, and small office. The existing space had been a low quality suite of offices with acoustical tile ceilings, and a plenum for ductwork and lighting.

The design solution raised the ceiling to the maximum by insulating at the plane of the roof deck and exposing and finishing the existing truss structure. The simplicity of the ceiling was maintained with Architect designed lighting and HVAC. Lighting was provided from the walls utilizing partially indirect fixtures.

Quiet effective heating and cooling for the space was achieved through the use of special sidewall diffusers that eliminated all distribution ductwork in the 22’ wide space. Sustainably produced bamboo flooring was installed as an ideal surface for yoga.
